ISLAMABAD – In Afghanistan,at least forty-eight people were killed andsixty-seven injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at aneducational center in Kabul today (Wednesday).
Taliban have denied their involvement in the attack.
Earlier, forty-eight Afghan policemen and soldiers were killed when Talibanattacked a military outpost in Northern Province of Baghlan today(Wednesday).
The defence ministry confirmed the incident but gave no details.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid said the group targeted a militarybase and two checkposts in Baghlan, killing 70 Afghan security forces, andseizing a number of armoured vehicles and ammunition.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan called for thefighting to stop, saying up to 150 civilians are estimated to have beenkilled in Ghazni, where the public hospital is over crowded with theinjured and water and electricity supplies are cut.
The top U.N. official in Afghanistan, Tadamichi Yamamoto in a statementsaid that extreme human suffering caused by the fighting in Ghaznihighlights the urgent need for the war in Afghanistan to end.
Prime Minister-in-waiting, Imran Khan has strongly condemned the terroristattack in Afghan capital Kabul.
He expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in theincident.
