LAHORE – Lahore High Court (LHC) has stopped ECP from issuing notificationof Imran Khan’s victory from NA 131 Lahore.
LHC to resume the hearing of case regarding re-counting in NA-131 onSaturday.
As per reports, the LHC summoned PTI chief Imran Khan’s lawyer Babr Awantoday and the court has also stopped the Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) from issuing the notification regarding success of Imran Khan fromNA-131 till 12pm night on Saturday.
It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan has indicated to leave thisseat. In previous hearing, Saad Rafique counsel Azam Nazir Tarar told tocourt that If Imran Khan vacated this seat then his request will stand infructuous.
Counsel for Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) told to court that SaadRafique has submitted the application for re-counting to ECP.
Earlier, Babar Awan counsel for Imran Khan couldn’t appear in the courtbeing pre-occupied in supreme court. The extension of a day was requestedby him to appear in the court. On which the court adjourned the hearing ofcase till 11am Saturday (Today).
