LAHORE – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has issued special instructions tothe Punjab cabinet members.
He met with the members of Punjab cabinet at CM Secretariat in Lahore.
PM Imran felicitated the members of the Punjab cabinet on assuming theirportfolios and said that huge responsibility lies on their shoulder asPunjab is the biggest province of the country in terms of population.
The Prime Minister urged the provincial cabinet to work tirelessly forimplementation of 100 Days Agenda of the present government to bring avisible change in the socio-economic spheres of our people’s lives and saidthat he would be frequently visiting the province and will remain at theforefront to oversee the First 100 Days Agenda.
The premier stated that the performance of the Punjab government should bea trendsetter for rest of the provinces.
Discussing various reforms with the Cabinet members, PM said thatelimination of corrupt practices is one of the biggest challenges in Punjab.
He stressed that the Cabinet members should make it their first priority toidentify corrupt practices and take strict action against the corruptelements.
PTI chief expressed serious concern over land grabbing and encroachments inthe province of Punjab in general and Lahore in particular and directedthat mafias and big groups who have been involved in encroachments and landgrabbing must be taken to task.
The PM Imran directed the CM Buzdar to immediately launch anti-encroachmentdrive and action against land grabbers and assured his fullest support tothe provincial government in this regard.
The Prime Minister emphasized upon the need of austerity and simplicity andsaid that the Cabinet members should set the example while remaining at theforefront to remove extravagance on taxpayer’s money at all levels.
We must invest in human development while rationalising our expendituressimultaneously with austerity and simplicity because Pakistan has thelowest Human Development Index in the region, He added.
The cabinet members also shared their ideas and proposals, concerning theirdepartments, with the Prime Minister.
Earlier, the Prime Minister held a meeting with CM Punjab Sardar UsmanBuzdar upon arrival at CM Secretariat. PM Imran Khan also planted a saplingupon arrival at Chief Minister Secretariat in Lahore.
