RTS system failure: PTI probe committee unveils the facts

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) probe committee has finalised theinquiry over the issue of the RTS system Failure on the night of GeneralElections 2018.

PTI has held NADRA responsible for the shutdown of election resultssoftware on the polling day.

According to sources, the party had formed an investigating committeeheaded by PTI Parliamentary leader in the Senate Azam Swati to look intothe Results Transmission System (RTS) fault. The committee was also taskedwith identifying those responsible and suggest action against them.

The team said that there is proof the General Election 2018 was free andfair but that it has still recommended to carry out a forensic audit of thesoftware failure.

The investigation was completed today and Swati is expected to meet PrimeMinister Imran Khan tomorrow (Saturday) and brief him on the reportfindings.

The Election Commission of Pakistan, which introduced the software for theJuly 25 election, faced severe criticism after results were unusuallydelayed on election day.

Opposition parties have since then called the election rigged and calledfor a probe into the RTS fault.
