More world leaders congratulate PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD – Azerbaijan Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov has congratulatedImran Khan on his election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In a message issued by Azeri Embassy in Islamabad today, Novruz Mammadovsaid Azerbaijan and Pakistan are linked with strategic partnership andclose relations which originated from the will of their friendly andbrotherly peoples.

He said he was sure that the bilateral cooperation based on mutualconfidence, trust and support, would further improve and expand by thejoint efforts in the years ahead.

The Azeri prime minister also extended greetings to the prime minister andPakistani Muslims on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called PrimeMinister Imran Khan today and congratulated him on assuming the office ofthe Prime Minister of Pakistan.

While conveying his compliments, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister underscoredthe importance of both countries working together in diverse areas ofmutual interest to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked the Sri Lankan Prime Minister for thecongratulatory phone call. He noted that while both countries enjoy strongand friendly ties, there was a need to galvanize the bilateral relations inall spheres, including political, economic, defence and tourism. He alsoconveyed good wishes for continued progress of Sri Lanka and its people.

Meanwhile, United Kingdom Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has felicitatedPTI chairman Imran Khan for becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In a tweet message, Corbyn said we give our support to the people ofPakistan and hope that the new government can deliver social justice andhelp build a country that works for all.
