*ISLAMABAD – The prime ministers of China and the United Kingdomcongratulated Imran Khan on becoming Pakistan’s 22nd prime minister.*
Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang appreciated his Pakistani counterpart’spositive remarks on supporting the development of China-Pakistan relations.He added the bilateral ties between Pakistan and India has witnessedhealthy and steady development despite the challenges of the time and thechanging global situation.
British Prime Minister Theresa May felicitated Imran and said new paths ofpartnerships will be opened with Pakistan in different sectors.
Imran has previously said money laundering is a serious issue fordeveloping countries and has sought Britain’s support in efforts to countermoney laundering.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also wrote acongratulatory letter to Pakistan’s prime minister. He hoped for thedeepening of UN-Pakistan cooperation in various fields, includingpeacekeeping operations around the globe.
Earlier the Prime Minister of India, Saudi King and Crown Prince MohammadBin Salman have also telephoned Imran Khan.
