ISLAMABAD – A meeting chaired by Minister for National Health Services,Aamir Mehmoud Kiani in Islamabad today decided to constitute an emergencynutrition task force with the aim to eliminate child malnutrition.

The meeting was attended by the provincial health and population welfareministers.

It was decided that the provinces will be given representation in the taskforce.

The meeting also decided to take steps to make the lady health workers moreeffective and functional.

It stressed on the need for chalking out a strategy to check the populationgrowth.

Addressing the meeting, Aamir Mehmoud Kiani said that a countrywidecampaign will be launched from 15th of next month against measles.

He said the health sector was ignored in the past, but we will givepriority to this sector as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Minister said all resources will be utililized to bring improvement inthe health sector.
