KABUL – Taliban stormed the district police headquarters on Saturday nightoverrunning a number of check posts in Dai Mirdad area.
*At least 11 security force members were killed in ongoing clash withTaliban insurgents in central Wardak province since Saturday night, localofficials confirmed on Sunday*, TOLO News has reported.
Wardak provincial governor’s spokesman, Abdul Rahman Wardak says that DaiMirdad district police chief and 10 security force members were killedafter Taliban stormed the district police headquarters on Saturday night.
“Clashes are still ongoing in the district,” he said.
However, he did not provide further details.
In the meantime, provincial officials said five check posts have fallen tothe Taliban – each check post had between five and ten security forces inplace.
Officials also said 52 Taliban were killed and over 60 wounded in theclashes.
The Taliban has also confirmed the clashes.
