ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated the newly electedpresident Dr Arif Alvi with an old picture of more than 20 years ago whenPTI was taunted as a Tonga party with very few members in Pakistan.
In his felicitation message, the Prime Minister expressed good wishes tothe new president in discharging his responsibilities and duties under theconstitution.
The Prime Minister also shared a picture of his youth days with thepresident.
Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Deputy SpeakerMuhammad Qasim Khan Suri have congratulated Dr Arif Alvi on his election as13th President of the country.
In their separate messages, they said Avli’s election indicates theconfidence and trust of leadership, members of National Assembly, Senate ofPakistan and Provincial Assemblies reposed in his acumen and capabilities.They said election of new President is another step towards smooth transferof power in democratic dispensation which is a good omen for democracy inthe country.
Federal Ministers Fawad Chaudhary and Shah Mehmood Qureshi have alsocongratulated Dr Arif Alvi on his election as President of Pakistan.
In his felicitation message, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary said thathis election as president of Pakistan is a positive sign for the federationof Pakistan.
He said Dr. Arif Alvi belongs to an educated and religious family and he,as president of Pakistan, will strengthen the pillars of the federation. Hesaid the newly elected President will perform his duties according toconstitution of Pakistan in the best way.
The Minister also felicitated the opposition parties for taking part inpresidential election.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Dr Alvi has stood by PrimeMinister Imran Khan and has been committed to the struggle for a NayaPakistan from the very beginning. He hoped he will prove to be a worthyPresident.
