ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally launch ‘Five millionHousing Project’ during first half of the next month.

This was decided during a meeting of the Task Force on Housing in Islamabadon Thursday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

The process of registration will also commence with the launch of theproject.

The Task Force apprised the Prime Minister about the progress made so farin formulating a comprehensive plan for execution and monitoring of the’Five million Housing Project’ for the low income groups as well asregularization of Katchi Abadis.

The Prime Minister said that besides utilizing expertise of both the publicand the private sectors, successful financial models including that ofAkhuwwat would be replicated to ensure success and affordability.

The Prime Minister directed the Task Force to expedite finalization of theplan including the legislative framework for its consideration by theprovincial and the federal government.
