QUETTA – Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing has responded over theissue of Saudi Arabia entry into the CPEX project.
He on Wednesday said that China had no objection to Saudi Arabia investingin the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“We welcome investment in CPEC,” the ambassador said while addressingjournalists at the Quetta Press Club. Other Chinese officials had alsoaccompanied the ambassador during his visit to the press club.
Earlier, much drama was witnessed after the reports claimed that Pakistanhad left China out of the loop over Saudi investment in CPEC. Confusionprevailed on the matter as the government at times accepted that China wasnot taken onboard over the inclusion of Saudi Arabia in the project, onlyto retract later saying that all the stakeholders were taken intoconfidence over the move.

The Chinese ambassador stated that after the formation of the newgovernment, CPEC had been reviewed and consensus had been developed overthe inclusion of new projects.
