TEHRAN – Iranian Member of Parliament from Mirjaveh referred toconsultations between Iranian and Pak local officials, and said thekidnapped border guards are safe and sound.
Appreciating the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) for theircooperation to pursue the case, Ali Kord said that all capacities are beingused for releasing border guards sooner.
He also pointed to the trip made by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad JavadZarif and also Commander of the IRGC Ground Force Brigadier GeneralMohammad Pakpour to Pakistan for investigating the issue.
Fourteen Basij (volunteer forces) and border guard forces were abducted byterrorists in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan border with Pakistan on October 15morning, an informed source said earlier.
During his recent visit to Pakistan, Zarif said Pakistan had promised tohelp Iran safely release the Iranian border guards who had been abducted byterrorists at the border crossing point in Mirjaveh. – APP/IRNA
