Money laundering from Pakistan: PTI government takes important step

*ISLAMABAD – PTI government has taken an important step to curb moneylaundering from Pakistan.*

*The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has set up a joint monitoring cell atall airports in the country to fight the menace of money laundering.*

As per details, the cells have been established at the Jinnah InternationalAirport, Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, New IslamabadInternational Airport, Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar andQuetta International Airport.

The joint monitoring cells will work towards curbing movement of moneythrough illegal channels.

The Airport Security Force (ASF), Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) and Pakistancustoms officials will jointly screen passengers’ luggage to restrictmovement of currency, narcotics and other contraband items.

The PTI government has upped efforts to curb reported laundering ofbillions of rupees out of the country every year.
