ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the National EducationPolicy Framework is being devised to bring uniformity in existingfragmented apartheid education system.

Chairing a briefing on the Policy Framework in Islamabad on Wednesday, heemphasized that skill development of the youth should be especially focusedso that the immense potential of the youth could be effectively utilized.

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmoodgave a detailed presentation on the Policy identifying various challengesincluding out of school children, quality of education and skilldevelopment issues.

He said that National Education Policy Framework is being formulated towith an objective to ensure that all children have a fair and equalopportunity to receive a high quality of education in order to achievetheir full potential.

He suggested establishment of a National Curriculum Council for the purposeof engaging and creating broad consensus among stakeholders for commonstandards of education across Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the meeting of Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission was alsoheld in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

Chairman PMIC Ahmed Yar Hiraj briefed the Prime Minister about the mattersrelating to Inspection Commission.
