ISLAMABAD – The Democrat-controlled US House of Representatives has passedlegislation to end a partial government shutdown.
The legislation would fund homeland security operations until 8th of nextmonth and several other agencies until September this year.
However, it does not include funding for the US President’s proposedUS-Mexico border wall.
President Trump has warned to veto any measure that does not providefunding for the wall.
The partial US government shutdown began when Congress and President Trumpfailed to reach an agreement over a budget bill last month.
The Republicans had passed an initial funding bill including five billiondollars for the US-Mexico border wall, when they still had a majority inthe House, but they could not get the necessary 60 votes in the 100-seatSenate.
Bipartisan congressional leaders will head to the White House fornegotiations today as they try to bridge a divide over the issue.
