Under PM Imran Khan Pakistan stood tall against US, cannot be bamboozled by CIA: Report

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has always remained in the limelight.Even when his days as a cricketer were over, he still remained in thespotlight for several reasons. When he announced his candidacy for thepremiership of Pakistan, both national and international media becameobsessed with him.

Since he has become the prime minister, he makes it to the internationalcoverage every now and then. Till date, he has been mentioned, and manytimes praised, by renowned media houses like the BBC News, the CNN, the NewYork Times, the Times of India, and so on.

Quite recently, he has been praised quite profligately by Adam Garrie, ageopolitical expert and the Director of Eurasia Future Think Tank. Whiletalking to Tehran-based “Press TV”, Garrie appreciated Imran Khan’s foreignpolicy choices.link

He said that under his leadership, Pakistan stood up to the US as asovereign nation. While commenting on Khan’s statement resenting Pakistan’spast dealings with the US, the British commentator said that Islamabad willno longer act as a ‘hired gun’ for the US.

“He’s creating a new mentality in terms not only of the general politicalatmosphere but in terms of all the policies that all of them are verypositive thus far.”

“Well, when Imran Khan first came to power and formed his government just afew months ago, I went out on a limb but very confidently saying that hewould be the best political ruler that Pakistan has had since the late andgreat Muhammad Ali Jinnah,” he said.——————————

Garrie had more to say on the issue, as he maintained, “And events thathave happened over the last few months now that Imran is in the government, have totally vindicated this. He’s put very few feet wrong and many feetright in terms of foreign policy relations. He has embraced with thatspirit of win-win multi-polarity.”

He appreciated the fact that the PM of Pakistan had stood tall against theUS.

“At the same time, he (Imran) has done something that none of hispredecessors in recent decades has done. He stood up to the United Statesfrom a position of a sovereign nation, as opposed to a nation with aneo-colonial mentality that can be bamboozled by the CIA, whose civilianscan be butchered by unmanned drone strikes, and that the US can spit uponwhether it was withdrawing so-called aid which is really frankly justreparations in disguise – and a measly, paltry amount at that.”

Garrie further opined that Khan’s attitude was the reason that PresidentTrump, who kept maligning Pakistan in the past, had asked the South Asiannation for help in the US’s exit from Afghanistan.

He had more to say, “If Imran continues on the path that he is pursuing Ibelieve that Pakistan’s best days are very much ahead. Of course, there areeconomic problems which need to be solved and are being solved. But interms of foreign policy, I think Pakistan’s new government really isdemonstrating that it’s a clean break from the past.”
