ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan will perform ground breaking of firstproject of Naya Pakistan Housing Program during second week of April.

In a meeting on Naya Pakistan Housing Program in Islamabad on Friday, PrimeMinister was informed that legislation for the Program has been finalizedand soon it would be presented to cabinet committee on legislative casesbefore being tabled in the Parliament.

It was informed that four sites at Islamabad, one in Lahore and other inQuetta is ready for formal launch of the Naya Pakistan Housing Program.

Discussing the issue of allowing vertical structure, it was decided thatthe modal being followed in the federal capital would be replicated in allmajor cities of the country while addressing the issue of grantingpermission for construction of high-rise buildings.

The Prime Minister in his remarks stated that five million housing programis a flagship program of the Government which will boost economy bycreation of job opportunities for the youth and businesses for alliedsectors of construction industry.

He said implementation of this program is the main plank of PakistanTehreek Insaaf manifesto and it will fulfill the dream of affordablehousing for the low income segment of the population.

The Prime Minister directed that the process of legislation should beexpedited and seamless coordination should be ensured at federal as well asprovincial level.
