PM Imran Khan approved corruption inquiries against 800 police officers and bureaucrats across Punjab

LAHORE – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday approved to launch aninquiry against 800 corrupt bureaucrats, said a statement issued by the PMOffice media wing.

The prime minister met with Director General Anti-Corruption Ejaz HussainShah. The meeting was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdarwhich discussed the matters pertaining to corruption and corrupt elementsin the country.

PM Imran Khan on the occasion expressed that elimination of corruption fromPakistan was the top priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)government.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said corruption had not only destroyed Pakistan’seconomy but also institutions of the country. He added that the lives ofordinary Pakistanis had been impacted due to corruption.

The prime minister further said that progress could not take place inPakistan with corruption.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed DG Anti Corruption to takeindiscriminate action against corrupt elements and assured the completesupport of the government.
