ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday hit back at theopposition and said that those who use the term ‘selected’ for him werethemselves manufactured in the nurseries of military dictatorship.
Addressing the last budget session, the premier said that Americacollaborated to have the National Reconciliation Order (NRO) signed becauseit was in their interests.
Quoting the autobiography written by former US Secretary of State,Condoleezza Rice, Imran Khan said that General Pervez Musharraf wasrequested to drop corruption cases against certain current members of theopposition.
Talking about the economic crisis, Imran Khan said that money launderingand corruption were the reasons behind the current economic crisis.
Addressing the depreciation of the Pakistan currency, he said that theRupee depreciated because the current government inherited the largest debtin the country’s history.
“Revelations are coming out after investigations into Zardari group, OmniGroup, fake bank accounts,” the Prime Minister said, adding that afterthese revelations, the opposition leader had no right to comment on thecurrency rates.
The Prime Minister thanked Hammad Azhar, Murad Saeed, and his allies fortheir speeches and participation in the budget sessions.
