Pakistan PM Imran Khan warns world yet again over rising tensions between two nuclear powers

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is on Mission Kashmir in NewYork, will address UN General Assembly on Friday, drawing world attentionto emerging humanitarian crisis in the Occupied Kashmir.

Imran Khan, while interacting with the Editorial Board of leading US dailythe New York Times, said in his address, he will ask the United Nations tointervene to address this issue.

The Prime Minister asked that if UN does not speak about it, then who willspeak about longstanding sufferings of the people of Occupied Kashmir.

Imran Khan said he would ask the United Nations to step in, warning that itis too risky to allow tensions to escalate between Pakistan and India asboth have nuclear weapons.

He emphasized that it is UN’s job and it should intervene and sendobservers there.

He said India is behaving irrationally out of its arrogance and against itsown longer-term interests.

He condemned India’s military clampdown in the Occupied Kashmir and hewould appeal to the world body for help.

Imran Khan stressed the need to understand that situation in Kashmir can gohorribly wrong.

Imran Khan warned that the situation in Occupied Kashmir is becomingdangerous and it is going to be a massacre, the moment New Delhi will liftcurfew.

The Prime Minister said he is not optimistic that he would accomplishanything in his speech to the United Nations, at least not in the nearterm. However, he said at least the world will be aware about the impendinggenocide.
