Education Policy 2016: Initial draft to be shared with provinces
ISLAMABAD: (APP) State Minister for Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education, Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman on Thursday said the first draft of Education Policy 2016 will be shared with provinces for a debate by mid of next month and uploaded on the website for general public' input.
In a meeting with the delegation of National Education Development Partners Group (NEDPG) held here, the minister said that 18 experts are engaged by the Federal Ministry of Education to finalize the first draft of the policy.
In this context, a three days International Conference has been planned in the month of November 2016 in Islamabad to bring the ECED in the forefront of National agenda.
The delegation included Umbreen Arif (Co Chair, World Bank), Vibeke Jensen (Co Chair, UNESCO), Ali (World Bank), and Zafar Hayat (UNESCO).
The basic agenda of the meeting was to create synergy among the donor partners and the Government.
The meeting discussed the policy issues, technical and vocational training with Public Private Partnership, Early Childhood Education, Non Formal Education and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4.
On the occasion, Ms Jensen told about the progress on SDGs 4 consultations, which were held in all the provinces.
Other issues like differences in data collection and test results were also discussed in the meeting.
