Ahmed Pur East oil tanker tragedy investigation report submitted to CM Punjab

LAHORE – The preliminary investigation report of the unfortunate incident of the Ahmed Pur East oil Tanker tragedy has been prepared and submitted to the Chief Minister Punjab.
Preliminary investigation report of Ahmadpur East tragedy has claimed 162 lives until Wednesday has reported to the Chief Minister (CM) that the Punjab Police arrived on the scene with delay and did not check locals’ movement with flammable oil all around them.
CM Shehbaz Sharif had visited Bahawalpur and Multan hospitals following the tragedy on Saturday and inquired on health of the wounded. He had announced Rs 1 million for the wounded while Rs 2 million for each family of the killed.
On the occasion he ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident, a preliminary report of which was forwarded to the top Punjab official today.
The report alleges both Punjab Police as well as the highway police of arriving on the scene with delay. It also states that fire fighters did arrive on the scene but they carried insufficient amount of extinguisher with them.
An oil tanker had met an accident in Ahmadpur East a day before Eid-ul-Fitr and the locals had gathered at the site to make use of the 50,000 litres of oil that had spilt all over the place.
