European Union snub Israel

The United Nations and the European Union have denounced recent Israeli initiatives to accelerate settlement construction in occupied Palestinian territory.
Spokesman for the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric said the world body's position on settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem has not changed.
In a statement in Brussels, the European Union said Israeli settlement announcements seriously undermine the prospects for a peace deal in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Israel has announced to construct 2,500 more illegal settler homes in the occupied West Bank.
