On Wednesday, the Inter-Services Press Relations (ISPR) announced that security forces had thwarted an attempt by seven terrorists to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The operation took place in Spinkai, Ghulam Khan, North Waziristan District, on April 16, 2024. Upon detecting the movement of the terrorist group, security forces swiftly surrounded them.
After engaging in a fierce firefight, the security forces successfully neutralized all seven terrorists. Subsequently, a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the militants. This operation marks another instance of the ongoing efforts by Pakistani security forces to combat terrorism along the border.
The ISPR reiterated Pakistan's call for effective border management by the Interim Afghan Government to prevent terrorist activities originating from Afghan soil.
The statement urged Afghanistan to fulfill its obligations in denying terrorists the use of its territory to launch attacks against Pakistan.
Emphasizing the commitment of Pakistan's security forces, the ISPR affirmed their dedication to securing the nation's borders and eradicating the threat of terrorism within the country. This operation follows a previous intelligence-based operation on April 7, where security forces eliminated two terrorists in North Waziristan District.
