KABUL – Heavy fighting between Afghanlink governmentlink forces and theTaliban link inAfghanistan linkUruzgan Province resulted in casualties on both sides, a military sourcetold Sputnik on Monday.
Although exact figures are unclear, the source estimated that eightcommando troops, five policelink officers and twoAfghan link NationalArmy link soldiers perishedover several days of fighting.
The source voiced fear that Talibanlink forces maylink completely overrun theprovince if no reinforcements are sent.
Official Afghanlink militarysources have yet to sharelink any informationregarding the ongoing military actions in the region.State news link agency Bakhtar News onSunday link reported thata total of 12 Talibanlink militantslink were killed incombat in the Uruzgan and Zabul provinces, providing scant details.
