ISLAMABAD- Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Yao Jing called on SecretaryMinistry of Commerce Muhammad Younas Dhaga in Islamabad today.

The ambassador briefed the secretary on the status of Free Trade Agreementbetween China and Pakistan.

Yao Jing reaffirmed China`s commitment to allay any apprehensions ofPakistan’s local industry.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of negotiations on Free TradeAgreement, the secretary thanked the Chinese Government for accommodatingconcerns of Pakistan`s local industry and agreeing to provide competitiveedge to Pakistani exporters in China.

The secretary proposed that both sides can meet at an early date for the10th round of negotiations to finalize the remaining issues so that aformal announcement can be made during visit of Prime Minister ShahidKhaqan Abbassi to China next month.
