Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir stuns all with his brilliant performance at CPL

Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim played pivotal roles in securing a crucial 59-run victory for the Jamaica Tallawahs against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, ensuring their continued presence in contention for the 2023 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Playoff stage next week. The Tallawahs, after winning the toss, chose to bat first on Saturday. Despite facing early challenges from the spin duo of Ashmead Nedd and George Linde, they managed to post an impressive total of 178/7 after 20 overs. This was largely thanks to a resilient 62-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Shamar Springer and Fabian Allen.

As the Patriots took on the daunting task of chasing down the target of 179, they encountered early setbacks with the dismissals of their experienced openers, Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher, within the first three overs. Imad Wasim sent Lewis back to the pavilion with just 2 runs to his name, while Mohammad Amir had Fletcher caught behind after he had scored 11 runs.

Amir's performance was particularly outstanding, concluding his spell with remarkable figures of 4/19 in 3.3 overs. Imad also made a significant contribution, taking three wickets during his four-over spell while conceding 25 runs.

Despite Yannic Cariah's valiant effort with a remarkable 65 off just 40 balls, marking his highest T20 cricket score, the Patriots found themselves eventually bowled out for 119. This comprehensive victory showcased the bowling prowess of Amir and Wasim, which proved to be instrumental in the Tallawahs' triumph and their pursuit of a coveted spot in the CPL Playoff stage.

It was a match filled with thrilling moments and standout performances that solidified the Tallawahs' position in the competition and left the Patriots with a challenging road ahead in the tournament
