ISLAMABD* – Iranian Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major GeneralMohammad Baqeri, accompanied by a high level delegation, arrived inPakistani capital, Islamabad on Sunday on an official three-day visit fortalks with the country’s officials.*

General Baqeri was welcomed by high-ranking Pakistani military officialsand Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost upon his arrival at NurKhan Airbase.

The visit is being carried out on the invitation of his Pakistanicounterpart General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Major General Baqeri is scheduled to meet Pakistan’s civilian and militaryleadership during the visit.

Bilateral ties, defense cooperation, border management, war againstterrorism, regional and international developments would come underdiscussions during the meetings.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar JavedBajwa visited Iran in November last year and met with Iranian leaders in abid to further enhance coordination between the two countries especially indefense sector.
