ISLAMABAD – Russia has acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution and sacrificesin the fight against terrorism.

The acknowledgement was expressed during a meeting between ForeignSecretary Tehmina Janjua and Deputy Secretary National Security Council ofthe Russia Federation Mikhail Popov in Islamabad.

The two sides also discussed defence and security relations and expressedsatisfaction on the current level of cooperation between the two countries.

The Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua also expressed satisfaction onincreasing military and technical cooperation between Pakistan and Russia.

They also recognized the need for joint efforts for peace, security andstability in the region.
