KABUL – President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani says the Afghan armed forces willreceive 50 helicopters from NATO in the near future.
Speaking to the officers and personnel of the 205th Atal Corps in Kandahar,President Ghani said the NATO-led Resolute Support will deliver 50 newhelicopters to the Afghan armed forces in the near future and the otherproblems will also be resolved.
He also listened to the information and recommendation shared by the 205thAtal Corps and thanked them for their sacrifices while insisting on thejustified efforts of the Afghan armed forces.
President Ghani also hailed the Afghan Air Force personnel for theirefforts and issued necessary instructions for the promotion of thesoldiers, sergeants, and officers.
In other parts of his speech, President Ghani thanked the personnel of the205th Atal Corps for their justified demands to equip and strengthen theAfghan armed forces as he emphasized that such demands are not personal butaimed at the bolstering the capabilities of the armed forces.
This comes as efforts are underway by the Afghan government and theinternational partners of Afghanistan to bolster the capabilities of theAfghan armed forces, specifically the Afghan Air Force.
The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission officials are saying that the size ofthe Afghan Air Force will triple in size in the next five years.
