CM expresses resolve to make Baluchistan polio-free province

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri has categorically stated that no hurdles would be tolerated in achieving the set goals of cleaning Balochistan from polio virus.
We can't afford to put the future of our children at stake at any cost and accountability of concerned officials would be made who shows indolence and laziness, he warned.
Chief Minister was talking to the Focal Person Anti-Polio Cell for Prime Minister Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq who called on him here on Thursday and discussed affairs related to complete elimination of polio virus from Balochistan.
Admiring the efforts of Balochistan government particularly that of Chief Minister for paying serious attention and taking concrete steps for eradication of polio from the province.
Efforts made by Balochistan government for the elimination of polio virus are being recognized by concerned international organizations and since last one year no case of polio virus has been surfaced in the province, she added.
Chief Minister said that the incumbent government was taking every important issue seriously and endeavoring its timely solution.
Like terrorism polio is also a serious issue, and the way we improved law and order we are also committed and would defeat polio,” he added.
He said that government was specially focusing on health and education therefore made a huge increment in the budgets of these sectors.
The salaries and incentives of doctors and paramedical staff had been increased while the teachers were also being provided timescale and other incentives so that they could smoothly discharge their duties, Nawaz Zehri said.
The meeting agreed and decided that for further success of polio drive in the sensitive districts regarding polio virus, including Quetta, Pishin and Qila Abdullah special measures are needed to be taken and administration of polio drops to children at Pak-Afghan border would be ensured.
Terming the cooperation of religious scholars in polio campaign essential it was decided that all Muslim countries defeated polio virus through the same vaccine which is being used in Pakistan, so there is no reality in the propaganda of some quarters regarding polio drive. (APP)
