Pakistan PM Imran Khan hints at a good news for Iran soon

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan PM Imran Khan hints at a good news for Iran soonregarding the recovery of kidnapped Iranian guards

Prime Minister Imran Khan said he would soon have “good news” for Iran ashe spoke to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani over telephone on Saturday.

Prime Minister Imran’s remarks came after the Iranian president urged himto take “decisive” action against a militant group that claimed a deadlysuicide attack in a border area.

A suicide bomber killed 27 members of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards inmid-February. Jaish al Adl (Army of Justice) militant group had claimedresponsibility for the attack.

“We are awaiting your decisive operations against these terrorists,” Iran’sIRNA news quoted Rouhani as saying during the telephonic conversation withthe prime minister.

“We should not allow decades of friendship and fraternity between the twocountries to be affected by the actions of small terrorist groups, thesource of whose financing and arms is known to both of us,” Rouhani said.

Iran has blamed its regional rival Saudi Arabia and arch-enemies Israel andthe United States for the attack and other cross-border raids, anaccusation rejected by the countries.

Prime Minister Imran said, “It is in Pakistan’s own interest not to allowour territory to be used by militants.
