BEIJING- China on Tuesday said it opposed the use of finance as a politicalmeasure to put pressure on Pakistan and asked the international communityto objectively and justly treat the Pakistani anti-terrorist efforts,instead of simply blaming it.

The Pakistani government and people had made tremendous efforts and madegreat sacrifices for the international anti-terrorism cause.

Spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry Geng Shuang expressed these viewsduring his regular briefing here while responding to a question that somecountries accused Pakistan of flaws in fighting terrorism financing inrecent past.

He said “In recent years, in particular, Pakistan has actively taken aseries of measures to strengthen financial supervision and crackdown onterrorist financing and made importantprogress,”

He said that all parties should objectively and justly treat the Pakistanianti-terrorist efforts, instead of simply blaming them.“We also oppose the use of finance as a political measure to put pressureon the Pakistani side,“ he added.

The spokesperson said that as an all-weather strategic partner, China andPakistan would continue to step up coordination and cooperation on theanti-terrorism issue.

He said “Their political mutual trust will be unbreakable and neither willany attempt to leave the Sino-Pakistani relations.” – APP
