Hearts of Pakistanis & Kashmiris throb in unison: Barjees

ISLAMABAD:Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Muhammad Barjees Tahir has said Kashmir day is being observed to give a loud and clear message to the world that the hearts of Pakistanis and Kashmiris throb in unison.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Sunday, he said Kashmir issue is the oldest unresolved issue on UN agenda.
He said if referendum can be held in East Timor and Sudan then why plebiscite cannot be held in Kashmir.
The Minister urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions for solution of Kashmir dispute as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He said Pakistan respects all resolutions of UN and the world council has endorsed the resolutions many times in its sessions since 1947.
Barjees Tahir said that Pakistan will continue its political, moral and diplomatic support for their birth right to self-determination.
The Minister said that India has crossed all records of atrocities and human rights violations in held Kashmir. He said despite Indian unprecedented brutalities, the Kashmiri youth are taking forward their freedom movement.
The Minister said that Pakistan wants to resolve the Kashmir issue through composite dialogue process. He said due to this issue South Asia has become a flash point. He said durable peace in South Asia is not possible without the solution of Kashmir issue.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Muhammad Barjees Tahir said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will address the joint session of AJK Legislative Assembly and AJK Council in Muzaffarabad tomorrow. He said President Mamnoon Hussain is also organizing a function in Islamabad tomorrow to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
Human Chains at Kohala Bridge, Mangla Bridge and other points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will be formed.
Rallies, public meetings, functions and seminars will be held in the length and breadth of the country and Azad Kashmir to draw attention of the world community towards the plight of Kashmiris.
Radio Pakistan will air special programmes on 5th February to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people struggling for their right of self-determination under UN resolutions.
According to schedule, messages of President and Prime Minister will be aired in programme "Subh- e Pakistan" starting at 7:10 a.m.
One minute silence will be observed at 10:00 a.m. to pay homage to the martyrs of the liberation struggle of Occupied Kashmir.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs Muhammad Barjees Tahir said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also address a public rally.
He said that a delegation comprising federal ministers and political leaders will hand over a memorandum to UN resident representative in Islamabad urging the world body to ensure Kashmiris get their right to self-determination.
