Saudi Arabia appoints new female Cyber Security Director

RIYADH – Prince Saud Al-Qahtani, chairman of the Saudi Federation forCybersecurity, Programming and Drones, announced on Friday the appointmentof Nouf Abdullah Al-Rakan as executive director.

Rakan started her early career, completing her studies at George WashingtonUniversity, and achieved a fellowship in Project Management. She is agraduate of Windsor’s International Young Leadership Program in Britain.

She has over 15 years of experience in project and business management inSaudi Arabia, has worked in the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and hassupported of Saudi businesswomen and trained them in leadership andentrepreneurial skills.

She worked for a short time at the UN Office in Riyadh, particularly in thefield of community development.

In 2004, she established MITSCo, an information technology companyspecializing in programming mobile-phone applications.

Rakan was a member of the Board of Directors and Secretary General ofCommunity Development Committee in Riyadh. She participated in severalofficial business delegations in East Asia and other countries.

She is also the CEO of Educational Initiatives, an educational-developmentcenter in Riyadh.
