PPP makes important decision ahead of elections

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has decided to focus all its attention on the Punjab province ahead of the elections. According to ARY News, Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto will soon visit Lahore, and during this visit, a PPP Central Executive Committee meeting will be held in Lahore with the aim of energizing the party in Punjab. The decision to hold this meeting was made due to the failure of the provincial leadership.

Sources suggest that Asif Ali Zardari will meet with party leaders and officeholders in Lahore, including consultations on appointments to party positions in the province. Practical steps will also be taken for a public engagement campaign before the elections. The proposal to hold a PPP convention during Asif Zardari's visit to Lahore is also under consideration.

It has been reported by sources that the party leadership is deeply disappointed with the performance of the PPP in Punjab as they had hoped for the inclusion of prominent figures from Punjab into the PPP before the elections. However, the party has not achieved significant success in Punjab so far, primarily due to the failure of the provincial leadership to activate the party effectively.

Sources also indicate that there is internal discord among PPP officeholders in Punjab, and this internal strife is negatively affecting the party. The lack of interest from the leadership has made it challenging to appoint a permanent president for the party in Punjab, as temporary President PPP Punjab, Rana Farooq Saeed, has not been successful in revitalizing the party in the province.
