ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Gwadar Port achieves a new milestone first time ever in the history of the country as the first shipment of the transit trade arriving at the deep sea port, media report has revealed.
It was disclosed that the Gwadar port has been opened for transit trade and the first shipment in this regard is due next Tuesday.
The sub-committee of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs, in its meeting on Tuesday, reviewed in detail various issues pertaining to Gwadar Port and its investors.
Convened by Senator Kauda Babar, the meeting was attended by Senator Moula Bux Chandio, Senator Muhammad Akram and senior officers of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Gwadar Port Authority, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Pakistan telecommunication Limited (PTCL).
During the meeting, a compliance report on the progress made on the recommendations of the sub-committee was submitted.
