Chinese, Indian businessmen visit FPCCI in Lahore

LAHORE: (APP) A sixty-member delegation, including business moguls of fifty top leading Chinese and ten Indian companies from chemical and dyeing sector, on

Thursday visited the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Pakistan to get essence of existing opportunities in chemical industry of Pakistan.

The primary purpose of the delegation was to explore investment opportunities for joint ventures.

On the occasion, Manzoorul Haq, Regional Chairman and Vice President FPCCI, said the country was rapidly growing economy, the fifth largest consumer market in the world with 200 million populations while our chemical industry was continuously flourishing sector which highlights the scope of business in the sector.

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and business friendly investment policies had turned Pakistan into a best trade and investment destination, he added.

He was hopeful that Chinese and Indian businessmen will further strengthen trade and economic ties with Pakistan through joint ventures.

Highlighting regional trade opportunities, the chairman said the CPEC was the largest overseas investment which was coming in the next three years. The investment would further upraise potential of Pakistani market to the world.

He added international investors should avail this opportunity especially Chinese companies would have direct market access in perspective of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Mr Hopkins Tui, representative from Chinese delegates, said Pakistan was a peaceful country and our presence here had witnessed that the business community of both country committed for the promotion of bilateral trade.

Mr Niraj K Shah, Director Monarch Dyestuff and representative of the Indian delegates, highlighted the visa problems being faced by the business community of both countries and said visa policy should be easy.

He emphasized over the importance of business delegations and said exchange of business missions between the countries could play a pivotal role in cementing the links between the countries and people alike.

A large number of business community attended the meeting which was ended with business to business meetings.
