KABUL – The US forces based in Afghanistan have carried new airstrikes onTaliban targets in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan with the localofficials saying at least seven militants including two ISIS insurgentswere killed during the raids, Khaama Press has reported.

The provincial government media office in a statement said Monday at leastfive Taliban insurgents were killed in an airstrike conducted in Bati Kotdistrict.

The statement further added that the airstrike was carried out earliertoday in the vicinity of Ambar Khan area of the district.

According to the provincial government, some weapons and ammunitionbelonging to the Taliban insurgents were also destroyed in the airstrike.

In another airstrike in Achin district of Nangarhar, at least two militantsaffiliated with the ISIS terrorist group were killed and some of theirweapons were destroyed, the Nangarhar governor’s office added.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban and ISISinsurgents have not commented regarding the reports so far.
