ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan after beinggranted bail from terrorism court has tweeted that “My name is Khan and Iam not a terrorist”.
Imran khan further hit out at US President Donald Trump for his recentcriticism on Pakistan, stating that he was ignorant of the basics of thewar in Afghanistan.
Speaking to media personnel outside an anti-terrorism court, thecricketer-turned-politician said that Pakistan had encountered a huge lossamounting to US$100,000 billion due to America’s War On Terror.
The PTI chief said that when he was at first critical of America’s invasionof Afghanistan and sending troops to Pakistan’s tribal belt, people calledhim ‘Taliban Khan’.
“You can access the footage of my speeches in National Assembly,” he said.“I was against fighting America’s war for dollars and had spoken outagainst it,” he added.Imran Khan said that Pakistan had destroyed itself in fighting a war thatwas not its own to begin with for the sake of dollars.
“We lost 70,000 lives in America’s war,” he said. “Trump’s recent statementshould serve as an example for all of us. Regardless of whatever aid acountry offers, we should not go to war for it,” he added.United States (US) President Donald Trump on Monday sent out his firsttweet of the year. And it was a rant against Pakistan.
“The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billiondollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing butlies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools,” he wrote. “They give safehaven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!”
