Saudi Ambassador meets PM Imran Khan to discuss expected heavy investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Islamabad Nawaf Saeed Al-Malki heldimportant meeting with PM Imran Khan today.

He called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed bilateral issues andthe expected heavy investment by the kingdom in Pakistan, said sources onTuesday.

Nawaf Saeed Al-Malki conveyed the special message of Saudi Arabia’sleadership to PM Imran during the meeting held on December 31 at PM’soffice in Islamabad, the sources added.

Issues of bilateral interest, regional situation and the expected heavyinvestment by Riyadh came under discussion in the meeting.

The sources said that Saudi Arabia’s leadership had already sent numerousgoodwill messages to PM Imran, the sources said and added that both thecountries are in contact with each other over the expected heavy investment.

It is pertinent to mention here that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), onNovember 19, had received the first tranche of $1 billion under the balanceof payment support from Saudi Arabia.

According to a SBP spokesperson, out of the promised $3bn Saudi assistancein foreign currency support, the central bank has received $1bn dollar,while the remaining amount of $2 billion is expected to reach in next fewdays.
