ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that opensupport of 58 world countries on Kashmir dispute through a joint statementin Geneva is of great significance for Pakistan and especially for theKashmiris.
He was presiding over the 9th meeting of Advisory Council for ForeignAffairs in Islamabad today.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi welcomed the decision of Indian Supreme Courtregarding the permission to opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s visit tocurfew hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the Indian Supreme Court verdict validates Pakistan’s position.
The Foreign Minister said millions of innocent Kashmiris have been facingthe worst curfew for the past forty-three days.
During the meeting, special consultation was also held to highlight theKashmir situation globally through UN General Assembly session being heldlater this month.
The meeting also agreed to further enhance diplomatic relations with theinternational community to save Kashmiris from Indian aggression.
