ISLAMABAD – Federal government takes important decision over administrativecontrol of Karachi as the PTI government is invoking Article of theconstitution 149 (4).
Federal government has decided to take over the administrative control ofKarachi.
Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem disclosed that the federal government isconsidering taking over the administrative control of Karachi by invokingArticle 149(4) in Karachi.
“The federation must take the administrative control of Karachi city forbetter administration. The strategic committee on Karachi was going torecommend to Prime Minister Imran Khan to invoke Article 149 for the upliftof Karachi,” the law minister informed.

Farogh Naseem said that the federal was intending to invoke Article 149(4)in Karachi. “Neither does Article 149(4) speak of governor rule, nor ofimposing an emergency,” he added.
“It is an independent article, which says that the federal government hasan executive authority under which it can issue directives to anyprovincial government, if there are issues pertaining to peace,tranquillity and economic life,” the law minister clarified.
