Indian lockdown of Occupied Kashmir completes 10 weeks

SRINAGAR – In Occupied Kashmir, the miseries of millions of residents ofKashmir Valley and Muslim majority areas of Jammu region continue unabatedas the strict lockdown imposed by Indian government completed 10 weeks,today.

Shops and markets are closed and public transport is off the roads in theKashmir Valley and many areas of Jammu as a mark of protest to expressresentment against the Indian occupation.

In the absence of public transport, people face immense difficulties to getto the hospitals and move from one place to another to meet their lovedones.

They cannot even easily communicate with their relatives and friends due togag on internet and cell phone services. The lockdown and ban oncommunications has virtually cut off the Kashmir Valley from the rest ofthe world.

As per the estimates of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries, thelosses in occupied Kashmir since 5th August have crossed over rupees sixthousand crore.

Meanwhile, Resistance Youth League in the posters circulated in occupiedKashmir appealed to the ulema and intellectuals of the territory to playlead role in ending the Indian subjugation.

It said, it is responsibility of religious leaders and intellectuals toshow the path of freedom to the Kashmiri youth. The Resistance Youth Leaguesaid that at a time when the cruel soldiers are standing at the doors ofthe Kashmiris and the chastity of their mothers, sisters and daughters wasat risk, it is the responsibility of every person to play his role in theongoing freedom movement.
