ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly rejected the Indian Defense Minister’scomments that FATF can any time blacklist Pakistan.
In a statement on Monday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisalsaid the statement reinforces Pakistan’s concerns about India’s attempts topoliticize the FATF proceedings to further its narrow partisan objectives.
The Spokesperson said India’s incessant smear against Pakistan and blatantpartisanship also call into question its credentials to be co-chair of theAsia-Pacific Joint Group that reviews Pakistan’s progress to implement theFATF Action Plan. He said our concerns in this regard have been previouslybrought to the attention of FATF members.
The spokesperson hoped the broader FATF membership would take cognizance ofIndia’s continuing malicious campaign against Pakistan and reject anyattempt aimed at politicizing the FATF proceedings.
Dr Muhammad Faisal said it is important for FATF to ensure that the processremains fair and unbiased.
