NEW DELHI – Hafiz Saeed’s UNSC sanctioned pocket money seems biggestproblem of Indian foreign policy.
India has strongly objected to the JuD Chief Hafiz Saeed’s pocket moneyauthorised by the UN Security Council on Pakistan’s plea.
India on Friday said Pakistan’s request to the UNSC’s anti-terrorcommittee to allow Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed to get “pocketmoney” from his bank account for basic expenses exposes Islamabad’sduplicity.
The UNSC’s sanctions committee last month had allowed Saeed to withdrawmoney from his bank account for basic expenses.
“One country gives an application on behalf of a global terrorist to UNSecurity Council’s Sanctions Committee that he should be given pocketmoney. This is a weird situation,” Ministry of External AffairsSpokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.
Kumar said on one hand Pakistan requests to the UNSC for allowing Saeed towithdraw money for basic expenses from his bank account, while on the otherhand it says the world does not believe that it is taking action againstterrorists.
“How can anyone believe you (Pakistan). This is duplicity. On one hand, yousay something and on the other hand you do another,” Kumar said.
