India expecting Pakistan to invite Indian PM Modi for Kartarpur corridor inauguration?

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan PM Imran Khan government may call on an invite to PMNarendra Modi, Indian media has reported.

Muhammad Faisal, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA), has said the Pakistani government has not yet taken a decision onsending an invitation to sitting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to theKartarpur Corridor opening ceremony, India Today had reported.

The Kartarpur corridor is scheduled to be opened on November 9.

Earlier this week, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi hadannounced that the Imran Khan government had decided to invite ManmohanSingh to the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor opening ceremony.

“Opening of the Kartarpur Corridor holds great importance and value forPakistan. And after detailed discussion and consultation, we have decidedto invite former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh as a guest to theopening ceremony,” he had said. Qureshi had said a formal invitation willalso be extended to the former Indian PM.
