ISLAMABAD – India’s Kashmir map move will escalate tensions with China,Chinese State Media Report has claimed.
A research fellow at the Shanghai Institute for International Studies ZhaoGancheng says revoking Indian Occupied Kashmir’s status undermines peaceand tranquility in region.
According to a Chinese newspaper Global Times, he said this will harminterests of India’s neighbors and also infringe on interests of Indianpeople.
He said that India believes Ladakh is not a part of Kashmir, so it willhave disputes about Kashmir only with Pakistan after Ladakh is separated asanother union territory.

Meanwhile, an expert on South Asia at China Institute of InternationalStudies Lan Jianxue said India’s deliberate decision of formation of ‘UnionTerritory of Laddakh’ will expand China-India territorial rows, createfresh frictions and complicate their border disputes.
