ISLAMABAD – Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, AndroullaKaminara, has said that the European Union and Pakistan could launch jointventures in various sectors besides textiles.
During her visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Tuesday,she said that Pakistan needs to produce products that are competitive inthe European market. She said that they are ready to help Pakistan toexpand its exports to the European Union and would like to be its partnerin this regard.
She added that the European Union and Pakistan have signed the StrategicEngagement Plan in June this year to further boost their relations indiverse fields.
Pakistan needs to prepare itself to meet the challenges of sustainingGeneralised System of Preferences Plus (GSP+) status so as to avail theopportunities of increasing exports to the EU.
She said that the increase in Pakistan’s exports was because of duty-freeaccess to Pakistani products under GSP Plus.
