ISLAMABAD – Pakistan responds over new developments in US and AfghanTaliban peace talks.
Pakistan on Thursday welcomed the announcement regarding resumption of theUS-Taliban talks.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Pakistan hope thatit will lead to intra-Afghan negotiations and ultimately to a peaceful andstable Afghanistan.
Islamabad encourages all parties to the conflict to engage constructivelyas a shared responsibility, the statement said.

Pakistan has always maintained that there is no military solution to theconflict in Afghanistan, the statement said, adding that an inclusive peaceand reconciliation process, involving all segments of the Afghan society,was the only practical way forward.
